Director of Digitalization & IT (Group IT Director)

For this next phase, ELCG is establishing a newly created Director of Digitalization & IT role – a senior, business-oriented technology leader who will drive group-wide digital transformation, operational excellence, and standardisation across systems and processes.
 
Role Overview
As Director of Digitalization & IT, you will own and execute the group’s digital, technology and operational excellence agenda. The role combines responsibility for IT with a strong mandate to optimise operations, harmonise processes, strengthen data-driven decision-making and build a scalable platform that supports both clinical operations and commercial growth.
 
You will lead the shift from fragmented local systems to a modern, modular, API-driven platform and operating model, supporting both commercial agility and clinical/regulatory requirements. The role reports directly to the Group CEO and works closely with the CFO, CHRO, CMO and Business Unit Leaders.
 
The position is ideally based at HQ in Søborg, but can also be located in Hitchin, UK, with regular travel to Denmark and across ELCG markets.
 
Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence & Process Harmonisation

• Lead operational excellence programmes across clinics, mobile units and back-office functions.
• Standardise processes across markets to create consistent, efficient and scalable operations.
• Strengthen performance visibility through reliable data, KPIs and BI in partnership with the Group CFO.
• Ensure customer- and patient-facing flows (booking, consent, CRM, portals) are optimised and seamless.

Technology Leadership & Digital Transformation

• Define and execute a group-wide digital & technology roadmap.
• Build a harmonised, modern architecture that replaces fragmented systems with modular, integrated solutions.
• Lead ERP, cloud, integration and data/BI initiatives supporting operational excellence.
• Drive M&A technology integrations for clinic networks and acquisitions.

Governance, Compliance & Cybersecurity

• Establish strong IT governance, cybersecurity frameworks and vendor management.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare, data privacy and clinical/regulatory requirements.

People Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing technology & transformation organisation.
• Act as a partner to clinical, commercial and operational leaders in elevating the overall operating model.

 
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a senior leader with:
 
Experience

• +7 years in senior IT/digital/technology/operations roles.
• Background from multi-site, consumer-facing or operationally complex businesses.
• Proven track record in technology-enabled transformation, operational excellence and building scalable architectures.
• Strong experience with ERP, integrations, cloud platforms, data/BI and digital customer journeys.
• International and cross-cultural leadership experience; PE exposure is a plus.
