A you a strategic and operationally IT Director who can lead Hartmann Packagings IT agenda? Can you ensure stable operations, strengthen governance, and drive digitalisation, data utilisation, and the modernisation of both production IT and enterprise systems?The Director of Digitalization and IT is responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing the operational execution of all Hartmann IT activities. This includes leading internal teams across Application Services, Business Intelligence, Process Excellence, and a Data Governance task force, while closely coordinating with Thornico IT, which manages infrastructure, service desk, core network/security services, and compliance. Local IT teams at each production site report to plant management, but work closely with Group IT and Thornico IT to ensure alignment and coordination.
The role bridges stable daily IT operations with a forward-looking digital agenda. In close collaboration with our divisions, the Director will help advance Hartmann’s digital maturity—driving automation, AI, and customer-centric digital services on a secure and scalable IT foundation.
Key responsibilities:Leadership & Strategy
- Set and execute Hartmann’s IT strategy, balancing operational excellence with long-term digital transformation, and ensuring alignment with business and group objectives
- Lead and develop the IT organization including direct personnel responsibility for key team members while ensuring stable, secure, and reliable IT operations as a foundation for innovation and scalability
- Act as a strategic visionary, key driver, and initiator of digitalisation, data utilization, smart automation, and the adoption of artificial intelligence
- Build strong partnerships with our divisions, Group Finance, and other support functions to deliver integrated IT solutions across the business
- Drive a cultural transformation within Group IT, process owners and superusers — from a predominantly operations-focused mindset to a forward-looking, solution-oriented approach that embraces innovation and enables fast change
Application Services
- Oversee business-critical applications, including M3 ERP, ensuring system stability, scalability, and support
- Drive continuous improvement, application roadmap planning and vendor management
- Platform integrations, automation & robotics/agents
Business Intelligence
- Strengthen BI capabilities, self-service reporting and analytics in close collaboration with business divisions, enabling faster and more informed decision-making
- Ensure stable operation, timely updates, and continuous development of BI systems and platforms
OT & Production IT
- Lead the Data Governance task force and secure value-creating data infrastructure globally
- Collaborate closely with local production teams to define and implement digital OT solutions
- Ensure that cybersecurity standards and other governance defined by Thornico IT are extended to cover the entire production environment
- Drive the digitalisation of production environments by leveraging sensor data, automation, data analytics, and AI in collaboration with Hartmann Technology and other cross-functional stakeholders
Digitalisation
- Elevate Hartmann’s digital maturity by driving strategic initiatives that enhance both internal efficiency and customer-facing digital services
- Identify, prioritise, and deliver high-impact digital solutions—such as automation, analytics, and AI—in close collaboration with business divisions and support functions
- Drive end-to-end process optimisation by simplifying, standardising, and digitalising workflows
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, embedding digital thinking across the entire corporation
Collaboration with Thornico IT
- Maintain a strong interface with Thornico IT on infrastructure, security, network, cloud, and service desk
- Ensure clarity in roles, responsibilities, and operational performance
The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a business-oriented, internationally minded IT leader who combines operational dependability with strategic foresight. You are execution-focused and trusted to ensure secure, stable IT operations, while driving digital innovation with clarity, purpose, and energy.
You bring relevant experience from multinational organizations, preferably within manufacturing, and are fluent in Danish and English, both written and spoken. You are outgoing, collaborative, and approachable, with a can-do mindset toward business needs and a strong ability to turn ideas into valuable solutions.
While Application Services and Business intelligence functions are mature, OT & production IT remains less developed. We therefore seek a candidate with strong digitalisation skills who can build on existing strengths while accelerating maturity in OT and digitalisation.
